NEET UG Result 2023 Live Updates: Meet the toppers

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the result of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2023 on June 13, 2023. The exam was conducted on May 7, 2023 for nearly 21 lakh candidates who aspire to join medical and dental courses across the country. The result is available on the official website of NEET UG - neet.nta.nic.in. Candidates can check their scorecard by entering their application number and date of birth.

NEET UG 2023 Toppers

The NTA has also released the list of toppers who have secured the highest marks in the NEET UG 2023 exam. The top two ranks have been bagged by Prabanjan J and Bora Varun Chakravarthi, both from Tamil Nadu, who scored 720 out of 720 marks. They are followed by Anushka Singh from Delhi and Shubham Kumar from Bihar, who scored 719 marks each. The fifth rank has been shared by four candidates - Aryan Raj Singh from Uttar Pradesh, Pratyush Garg from Haryana, Anshul Sharma from Rajasthan and Harshvardhan Agarwal from Madhya Pradesh - who scored 718 marks each.

Among the female candidates, Anushka Singh has secured the highest rank (AIR 3), followed by Pratyush Garg (AIR 5), Anshul Sharma (AIR 5) and Harshvardhan Agarwal (AIR 5). A total of 10 girls have secured a spot in the top 50 ranks.

The NTA has also released the category-wise toppers list, which can be accessed on the official website. A total of 11,45,976 candidates have qualified the exam, out of which 5,25,194 are from OBC category, 3,12,405 are from general category, 1,53,674 are from SC category, 98,322 are from EWS category and 56,381 are from ST category.

NEET UG 2023 Cut Off

The NTA has also announced the cut off marks for different categories of candidates. The cut off marks are the minimum marks required to qualify the exam and become eligible for counselling and admission. The cut off marks are based on various factors such as the number of candidates appeared, the difficulty level of the exam and the availability of seats.

The cut off marks for NEET UG 2023 are as follows:

- General category: 50th percentile (701-134 marks)

- General-PH category: 45th percentile (133-120 marks)

- OBC/SC/ST category: 40th percentile (133-107 marks)

- OBC/SC/ST-PH category: 40th percentile (119-107 marks)

Candidates who have scored equal to or more than the cut off marks will be included in the merit list and will be eligible for counselling and admission.

NEET UG 2023 Counselling and Admission

The counselling and admission process for NEET UG 2023 will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The MCC will announce the schedule and procedure for counselling soon on its official website - mcc.nic.in.

The counselling will be conducted online in two rounds for all India quota seats (15% of total seats) in government medical and dental colleges across the country. The remaining seats (85%) will be filled by state counselling authorities as per their respective rules and regulations.

Candidates who have qualified NEET UG 2023 will have to register on the MCC website and fill their choices of colleges and courses as per their preference and rank. The MCC will then allot seats to candidates based on their merit, choice and availability of seats. Candidates will have to report to their allotted colleges with their documents and fees to confirm their admission.

Through NEET UG result, admission to 1,05,433 MBBS, 27,948 BDS, 52,720 AYUSH, 487 BSc nursing, and 603 BVSc seats, as well as 1,205 AIIMS MBBS and 200 JIPMER MBBS seats in 15 AIIMS and 2 JIPMER institutes, will be granted.
