BJP's Advance Prep On 5 Year-End State Polls, PM To Chair Key Meet Today

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is gearing up for the upcoming Assembly elections in five states that are scheduled to take place later this year. These states are Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Telangana. The BJP is determined to win these polls and expand its political footprint across the country. To ensure this, the party has called a meeting of its central election committee (CEC) at its Delhi headquarters this evening. The CEC is the BJP's top decision-making body for finalising candidates and laying down poll strategies.

The meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is the undisputed leader of the party and the nation. Other prominent leaders who will attend the meeting include Union Home Minister Amit Shah, party president JP Nadda, and other members of the CEC. The meeting is expected to discuss various aspects of the election campaign, such as identifying candidates, highlighting key issues, countering the opposition, and mobilising the workers and supporters.

The BJP faces a tough challenge in these polls, as it has to contend with different political scenarios in each state. Out of the five states, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Telangana are currently ruled by opposition parties, namely the Congress, the TRS, and the Mizo National Front (MNF). The BJP has been trying to make inroads in these states by highlighting its achievements at the centre and exposing the failures of the state governments. The BJP also hopes to benefit from the popularity of PM Modi and his welfare schemes among the masses.

In Mizoram, the BJP has an alliance with the MNF, which is part of the NDA at the centre. However, the MNF recently voted against the BJP in a no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha over the Manipur crisis. The MNF also criticised the BJP's handling of the situation and expressed its dissatisfaction with the alliance. The BJP will have to resolve these differences and ensure that the alliance remains intact for the polls.

In Madhya Pradesh, which is currently ruled by the BJP, the party faces a stiff competition from the Congress, which has been rejuvenated by its recent victory in Punjab. The Congress has also roped in some prominent faces from other parties, such as Jyotiraditya Scindia and Sachin Pilot, to boost its campaign. The BJP will have to rely on its strong organisational network and its incumbent Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to retain power in the state.

These Assembly polls are also significant because they come months ahead of the general election next year and will set the tone for the big fight between an incumbent BJP and a joint opposition bloc in India. The BJP aims to repeat its stellar performance of 2019, when it won 303 seats out of 543 in the Lok Sabha. The opposition parties, on the other hand, are trying to forge a united front against the BJP and challenge its dominance.

The meeting of the CEC today is an indication of the BJP's seriousness and preparedness for these polls. The party wants to leave no stone unturned in its quest for victory and expansion. With PM Modi leading from the front, the BJP hopes to overcome all hurdles and emerge victorious in these crucial state polls.
