Need help with job search and application? LinkedIn’s upcoming AI feature might be useful

Finding a job can be a daunting task, especially in today's competitive market. You have to craft a resume, write a cover letter, search for relevant openings, and reach out to potential employers. But what if you could get some help from an artificial intelligence (AI) assistant that knows how to write and communicate effectively?

That's what LinkedIn, the world's largest professional network, is reportedly working on. According to app researcher Nima Owji, LinkedIn is developing a new AI-powered feature that will act as a coach for job seekers. The feature will help users with various aspects of their job search, such as applying for jobs, learning new skills, and finding more ways to connect with their network.

Owji shared an image on Twitter that shows how the new feature will look like. It appears that the AI coach will be integrated into the chat popup, and will offer personalized writing suggestions based on the user's profile, the hiring manager's profile, the job description, and the company in question. The user can then edit and send the message to the recruiter, or ask for more help from the AI coach.

The AI coach is designed to make the job search process easier and more effective for users. It will use natural language processing (NLP) and natural language generation (NLG) technologies to understand and produce human-like text. It will also use data and insights from LinkedIn's platform to tailor the messages according to the user's goals and preferences.

LinkedIn has not officially announced the AI coach feature yet, but it is expected to roll out soon to its premium users who pay upwards of $29.99 per month for the plan. The feature is likely to be based on Microsoft's Bing AI chatbot, which was launched in November 2022 as a competitor to OpenAI's ChatGPT. Microsoft owns LinkedIn since 2016, and has been investing heavily in AI research and development.

LinkedIn already has some AI-powered features that help users with their profiles and job listings. For example, it has an AI resume builder that helps users create a professional resume based on their LinkedIn profile. It also has an AI job description generator that helps employers craft better job descriptions based on the job title, company name, workplace type, job type, and location.

LinkedIn's AI features are part of its vision to create more economic opportunity for every member of the global workforce. By leveraging AI, LinkedIn hopes to empower its users to showcase their skills, find their dream jobs, and grow their careers.
